Update:

In early February, PSN suffered a widespread server outage, which prevented users from using PS4 and PS5 online services for hours. After fixing the problem, the Japanese company announced a compensation of 5 additional days of PlayStation Plus for all players, but what happened to that promise? Sony has updated the information and confirmed that it is going ahead with its plans. It has also informed that customers who are no longer subscribed but were at the time of the crash will also benefit from this compensation.

“We appreciate your patience as we work to provide the extra five days of PlayStation Plus to subscribers affected by the recent PlayStation Network outage,” the company said in an email. “Former PS Plus members (whose subscription expired during the crash) will receive five days of free access.” And how will the process work? “These updates will be automatically applied to the user’s account. No action will be required on their part.”

A long PSN downtime

The PSN problems began in the early hours of February 8. A couple of hours later, Sony released a statement acknowledging the crash and promising to investigate the issue and fix the error as soon as possible. In the end, the situation lasted until the morning of the next day, which logically caused inconvenience to users.
