At the Star Wars Celebration in Japan, Electronic Arts revealed Star Wars Zero Company, a turn-based tactical game for solo players, developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games.

What is Star Wars Zero Company about?

In this game, players will step into the shoes of Hawks, a former Republic officer tasked with leading an elite squad of ingenious operatives through a gritty and authentic story set at the twilight of the Clone Wars.

As a group of unconventional professionals brought together from across the galaxy, Zero Company must set aside their differences to overcome overwhelming odds and confront a rising threat that could engulf the galaxy if left unchecked.

A new vision for Star Wars gameplay

“Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is rooted in gameplay design pillars that intertwine the immersive Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics,” said Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor. “Our goal is to deliver an original Star Wars story set during the Clone Wars era, with meaningful outcomes based on player choices, and turn-based combat presented in a cinematic yet accessible way.”

Douglas Reilly, GM & VP of Lucasfilm Games, added, “At Lucasfilm Games, we’re huge fans of tactical games, and we’ve wanted to create one like this for a long time. What’s key in the best tactical games is that player choices matter, and we trust we’ve chosen the right team at Bit Reactor to develop a compelling and innovative title that stays true to Star Wars.”

Gameplay and customization

In Star Wars Zero Company, players will embark on a campaign of tactical operations and investigations across the galaxy. Between missions, they’ll develop a base of operations and gather intel through an informant network to stay ahead of Zero Company’s adversaries. Players will also have the freedom to create and customize their own squads of operatives, made up of original Star Wars characters.

  • Hawks’ appearance and combat class are fully customizable.
  • Recruited operatives can be tailored with character classes and species from the Star Wars universe.
  • Customize squad members’ looks, equipment, and abilities across various archetypes, including clone troopers, astromech droids, and even a Jedi.

On the battlefield, Zero Company members will forge bonds that unlock powerful combat synergies, capable of turning the tide in critical battles. With near-limitless customization and high-stakes encounters, players will need sharp preparation, strategy, and the right squad to succeed.

As for its release date, Star Wars Zero Company is set to launch in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
