‘The Last of Us’ warms up for Season 2: HBO series introduces Abby’s group in new footage
Ellie and Joel’s story will continue this spring with seven new episodes.
In addition to being fully immersed in the development of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Neil Druckmann is also keeping an eye on his other major professional project. The second season of ‘The Last of Us’ is not too far away from its premiere on Max, and as part of its promotional campaign, the series has been seen in some rather revealing new images. In addition to showing Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Isabela Merced and Young Mizino again as Joel, Ellie, Tommy, Dina and Jesse, the showrunners finally introduced Abby’s group.
Abby will be one of the most important characters in the rest of the story, so her allies will also play a major role in the next few episodes. Now we can finally put faces to all of them, thanks to all the previously unreleased images shared by Entertainment Weekly. The cast includes Kaitlyn Dever, Danny Ramirez, Tati Gabrielle, Ariela Barer and Spencer Lord, who will play Abby, Manny, Nora, Mel and Owen.

A season that will bring many changes to the game
Entertainment Weekly also shared more information about the production of the second season. Craig Mazin, the screenwriter and co-director of ‘The Last of Us’, stated that they will most likely need more than three seasons to complete the whole story that Druckmann and he are working on. On the other hand, it is confirmed that the new episodes will include several deleted scenes from The Last of Us 2, and that one of them will introduce a prominent character that is much talked about in the original work (similar to the case of Frank in Season 1). In addition, Duckmann confirmed that Kaitlyn Dever will not have the same musculature as Abby in the game, as it is a detail that will not play a crucial role in the plot. Finally, it is worth remembering that the second season of ‘The Last of Us’ will arrive in Max in the spring.
