Jean-Claude Van Damme can finally be seen in the new Mortal Kombat 1 trailer as Johnny Cage’s new skin.
Jean-Claude Van Damme is one of the big new additions to Mortal Kombat 1. After nearly thirty years of searching for the Belgian actor, the team at NetherRealm was able to add him to the upcoming game in the wildest fighting game saga: Mortal Kombat.

NetherRealm Studios has released the official trailer for Van Damme in Mortal Kombat 1 on its various social media and YouTube channel. You can check out the video below.
Van Damme skin was part of the first announcements of the game. His appearance is based on the character Frank Dux from ‘Bloodsport’ (1988), and his dialogues contain winks and references to certain films in his filmography, such as ‘Kickboxer’ (1989). However, we are not sure if it is the Belgian actor himself who voices his digital avatar, or if, as in the case of the Terminator in Mortal Kombat 11, it is a very convincing voice actor.
How do you get Jean-Claude Van Damme in Mortal Kombat 1?
Van Damme is a skin for the fighter Johnny Cage that has its own dialogue lines and its own voice. This means that he is not just another fighter on the roster, but a version of Johnny Cage using the same moves and Fatalities. You can only get the Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 1 with the Premium Edition of the game.
When will Mortal Kombat 1 be released and on which platforms?
Mortal Kombat 1 will be released on September 19, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S Series, and Nintendo Switch. Van Damme is not the only guest star; in the game’s first Kombat Pack we have none other than Homelander from The Boys, Omni Man from Invincible, and Peacemaker from Suicide Squad.
