Where does Fallout takes place: Prime Video Series Locations
The Fallout franchise has covered much of the United States, but the Prime Video series focuses on one specific location.
The Fallout franchise has traveled to different parts of the United States. The game has traveled to every coast of the country and has gone deep into Alaska. Its myth has taken us to know the different experiments in the vaults that are found throughout the country. A whole experience full of mutants, radiation and factions with very crazy ideals to survive. But the question remains, where does Prime Video’s Fallout series take place?
Throughout the series we jump through different points along the story that take us to California, more specifically around Los Angeles, to tell the adventure of Lucy, The Ghoul and Maximus. But to be more specific, these are some of the exact locations where these characters appear.
- Vault 33 - The main vault of the series is located in Santa Monica in Los Angeles, California, next to the Santa Monica Pier. Vaults 31 and 32 are believed to be within walking distance.
- Filly - The city built from junk is located near Santa Monica.
- Shady Sands - Capital of the New California Republic...now a large crater in the ground, this settlement is part of the Fallout lore, though its exact location has been retconed throughout the franchise, but the series places it in the Los Angeles Boneyard.
- Vault 4 - A major part of the Vault hype, this vault is believed to be located in Hawthorne, California, a city in L.A. County.
- The Wilds - One of the sectors where the Brotherhood of Steel sends five of their knights to search for the Enclave scientist. In the show, there is no specific boundary as to what part of California this area covers.
Where was Fallout filmed?
Another detail you might want to know is how they turned California into all of the locations mentioned above. Below is a look at some of the real-world locations that transported us to various places in the series.
- Namibia - Part of Lucy’s first steps out of Vault 33 took place in Namibia. The desert area outside her former home was filmed in three different locations in the African country.
- New Jersey - Filly’s entrance was filmed in an airplane and car graveyard in the Pine Barrens, New Jersey.
- New York - Locations such as the Enclave, Super Duper Mart, Hawthorne Medical Laboratories, and others were filmed in various locations throughout the state.
- Utah - The Brotherhood of Steel camp was filmed at Wendover Air Force Base, Utah.
- California - The Giffith Observatory was used as the headquarters for the New California Republic in the final episodes of the series.
