GTA Online continues to improve and will receive ray tracing on Xbox Series X and PS5

Rockstar Games' title adds other quality improvements in its next update, available from this December.

Update:
GTA Online continues to improve and will receive ray tracing on Xbox Series X and PS5

Rockstar Games hasn't forgotten about Grand Theft Auto Online, a game that was born as part of GTA V, but that has found a place as an independent project. The title has not stopped receiving content throughout all these years and it doesn't look like it will say goodbye in the short or medium term. Its transition to the next-gen of consoles will be accompanied by new additions in the December update, which still does not have a specific date. What is known is that it will add ray-traced reflections on Xbox Series X and PS5.

Reflections with ray tracing can be activated using the Fidelity Mode, which can be found in the graphics settings menu. The studio has taken the opportunity to implement some additional quality improvements, such as the ability to access favorite iFruit contacts more quickly.

And in the meantime, GTA 6 is on the way

It has been almost a decade since Grand Theft Auto V made its debut in stores. Since then, Rockstar Games' production has gone through three different console generations, in a case very similar to that of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. With all this, the company owned by Take-Two Interactive has already officially announced the sixth installment. Although, if they have not yet revealed official data, a big leak a few months ago was responsible for that.

In response to the theft of confidential material, which resulted in the publication of some 90 videos, Rockstar Games has expressed its disappointment, although it has indicated that this setback will not affect the development of the new video game:

"We are extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way. Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations. We will update everyone again soon and, of course, will properly introduce you to this next game when it is ready. We want to thank everyone for their ongoing support through this situation," Rockstar's note concludes.
