Hall of Famer Mike Piazza is heading up Team Italy with a roster peppered with big-leaguers and top prospects. The ones to keep your eye on are Vinnie Pasquantino and Nicky Lopez, although they have enough MLB talent around the diamond to make Italy a tough competitor.

Team Italy find themselves in Pool A, playing their group games in Taiwan alongside Chinese Taipei, the Netherlands, Cuba, and Panama. It won’t be a walk in the park, and the Netherlands should put up the stiffest competition in that group, but Italy have more than a sporting chance to make it through to the quarterfinals with this team.
