Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani given 2025 MLB All-Star Game verdict

The 2025 Major League Baseball All-Star Game is fast approaching, and the first group of selected players has been revealed. MLB announced the finalists from the first phase of All-Star voting, with the top vote-getters in each league securing their spots in the game, which will take place at Truist Park in Atlanta on July 13.

New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge led all vote-getters in the American League, while Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani topped the National League. Fittingly, both players—last season’s MVPs—have officially punched their tickets to this year’s Midsummer Classic.

Judge, nicknamed “The Judge,” earned 4,012,983 votes to become an All-Star for the seventh time in his career. The Yankees slugger is batting .361, with 108 hits in 299 at-bats, and has hit 28 home runs—second-most in the AL behind Cal Raleigh.

Ohtani, meanwhile, received 3,967,668 votes to earn his fifth All-Star selection. Serving as the Dodgers’ designated hitter, the Japanese superstar has played in 80 games and recorded 92 hits in 316 at-bats for a .291 average. He also has 28 home runs, tied with Judge and currently leading the National League.

The second phase of All-Star voting begins Monday, June 30 at noon ET. Fans can vote once per day at MLB.com/vote or via mobile devices. Final starters will be announced on Wednesday, July 2. Pitchers and reserves will be selected through a combination of player votes and selections made by the Commissioner’s Office.
