Aaron Judge injury update: What’s wrong with the Yankees star and when will he return?
The Yankees captain was pulled from the lineup ahead of Saturday’s game against the Phillies. Here’s what we know so far.

The New York Yankees were dealt a considerable blow ahead of Saturday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies with the news that star performer Aaron Judge wouldn’t be taking part in the clash.
Why isn’t Aaron Judge playing for the Yankees against the Phillies?
It was revealed in the run-up to the game that Judge wouldn’t be featuring against the Phillies after aggravating an elbow injury suffered earlier in the week.
The two-time American League MVP initially sustained the injury against the Blue Jays on Tuesday (July 22) but was able to take to the field in subsequent games against Toronto and Philadelphia on Thursday and Friday.
However, Judge struggled to throw the ball in the latter game against the Phillies and was pulled from Saturday’s matchup as a result.
How long will Aaron Judge be out for?
Yankees manager Aaron Boone has revealed the 33-year-old had imaging done on his elbow after Friday’s defeat to the Phillies, although he hadn’t yet received any confirmation about how long he would be absent.
“I’m obviously concerned, but we’ll wait and see, read the imaging and hopefully have more information later today,” Boone explained.
New York play the final game of a three-game series against Philadelphia on Sunday (July 27) before facing the Tampa Bay Rays four times on consecutive days between Monday and Thursday.
