How Aaron Judge’s “baby” homer quietly made history at Yankee Stadium
The Judge helped the New York Yankees beat the Texas Rangers in the first game of the series, hitting a new home run ‘low’.

After a high-octane Subway Series weekend against the New York Mets, the Yankees opened their midweek clash with the Texas Rangers at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday – and it came with an unlikely milestone for Aaron Judge.

How long is Judge’s shortest ever home run?
The Yankees captain launched a two-run homer in the eighth inning to extend the lead to 5-0. But it wasn’t the power of the shot that made headlines – it was its distance. The ball just cleared the right-field wall, traveling only 326 feet (99.3 meters), making it the shortest home run of Judge’s professional career.
According to a Google Cloud Statcast graphic, the blast would have been a home run in just four of Major League Baseball’s 30 stadiums: Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, Oracle Park and Tropicana Field. Still, it marked Judge’s 16th home run of the season – a sign that his electric start to 2025 is showing no signs of slowing down.

What is Aaron Judge’s longest ever home run?
Back in 2017, Judge’s longest homer – a 496-foot (151.1 meters) monster – came against the Toronto Blue Jays. That same year, he also crushed a 495-footer (150.8 meters) against the Baltimore Orioles. His longest shot of 2024? A 477-foot (145.3 meters) blast, also against the Blue Jays.
Warren delivers on the mound
Tuesday’s win over Texas was anchored by rookie pitcher Will Warren, who delivered a standout performance. The right-hander went 5.2 innings, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters. He got key support from relievers Mark Leiter Jr. and Devin Williams, who each added two strikeouts in critical moments.
The Yankees built their lead with a solo homer from Ben Rice – his 10th of the year – followed by a sacrifice fly from the same young slugger. Anthony Volpe added an RBI double before Judge’s two-run blast. The Rangers got on the board late with a two-run homer by Jonah Heim to right field, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap, as the final score held at 5-2.
