Juan Soto sets new HR record but what ballparks has he still to conquer?
The New York Yankees star set a new career high with a homer against the Cleveland Guardians and now has eyes on more.
Juan Soto never ceases to amaze the people of New York. Just one night after tying his personal best for home runs in a season, the Dominican star hit his 36th home run of the year during the first inning of the game against the Cleveland Guardians. With this, Soto set a new personal record for home runs in a single season.
Soto found a fastball from Joey Cantillo and sent the ball over the center field at Yankee Stadium. The ball traveled 427 feet from home plate, and Gleyber Torres crossed the plate as he was on first base when the Dominican slugger connected.
‘La Fiera’ still has a chance to reach 40 home runs, as there are 36 regular-season games remaining. The record for the most home runs in a single season by a Major League Baseball player born in the Dominican Republic is 66, held by Sammy Sosa for his performance in the 1998 season.
What ballparks has Juan Soto still to conquer?
The Dominican player still has challenges to accomplish, one of which is hitting a home run in every Major League ballpark.
The remaining stadiums where he has yet to dazzle are Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers, and T-Mobile Park, home of the Seattle Mariners. He will visit the Rangers from September 2 to 4 and will play at the Mariners’ stadium from September 17 to 19.
