More bad news for Yankees as newly signed star injured

Estados Unidos Update:

The New York Yankees’ downward spiral shows no signs of slowing. On Monday, they suffered yet another loss in the MLB, this time falling to the Texas Rangers – and they also lost a recently acquired player to injury.

Austin Slater, playing just his second game since being traded from the Chicago White Sox, left Monday’s matchup at Globe Life Field – an 8–5 loss – with a left hamstring strain.

The 32-year-old outfielder pulled up during a play in the first inning and had to exit early. Speaking to the media afterward, he said he’s not yet sure how long he’ll be sidelined.

He’s scheduled for an MRI in Texas to assess the severity of the injury. Meanwhile, in slightly better news for the Bronx Bombers, captain Aaron Judge is expected to return for Tuesday’s game.

Judge is set to return as the designated hitter, which could open the door for Giancarlo Stanton to make his first defensive appearance since 2023.
