Texas Rangers quietly shaping up one of the best bullpens in baseball

The Texas Rangers are quietly assembling a formidable bullpen for the 2025 season, making strategic moves that could position them among baseball’s elite relief corps. After a challenging 2024 season, the Rangers have been active in the offseason, adding experienced arms to bolster their pitching staff.

One notable acquisition is right-hander Chris Martin, who returns to Arlington after previous stints with the Rangers and a successful tenure with the Boston Red Sox. Martin’s ability to limit walks and his diverse pitching arsenal make him a strong candidate for the closer role.

One arm that they are reportedly interested in is Carlos Estevez who could be poached from AL West rivals the Los Angeles Angels for a pricetag that would be very doable in Arlington.

In addition, the Rangers have signed left-hander Hoby Milner, known for his unique delivery and effectiveness against left-handed hitters. Milner’s groundball-inducing abilities add a valuable dimension to the bullpen.

Right-hander Jacob Webb also joins the bullpen, bringing a standout changeup and a track record of success from his time with the Atlanta Braves and Baltimore Orioles. Webb’s ability to miss bats makes him a reliable option in high-leverage situations.

The Rangers have further strengthened their relief corps by acquiring left-hander Robert Garcia, who has shown flashes of excellence in the minor leagues and brings a high strikeout rate to the table. His presence, along with Milner and Jacob Latz, provides the Rangers with a solid trio of left-handed options.

These additions come as the Rangers look to address the bullpen challenges they faced in 2024, where they ranked 26th in ERA. By bringing in experienced and effective relievers, Texas aims to turn a weakness into a strength for the upcoming season.

As Spring Training approaches, the Rangers' bullpen is shaping up to be a key asset, with a blend of veteran leadership and emerging talent poised to make a significant impact in the 2025 campaign.
