Seager’s streak was like a sequence of good grades. The two-run homer beyond the right field wall in the fifth inning on Wednesday, contributing to the 6-1 victory, was just one of many that have lit the Rangers’ flame. His thirteenth homer of the season and fourth in three games encouraged Texas’ resurgence.

Seager’s statistics show a remarkable transformation. Since May 2, his batting average has surged from .219 to an impressive .317. His on-base percentage (OBP) rose from .305 to .418, his slugging percentage (SLG) from .289 to .732, and his on-base plus slugging (OPS) increased from .594 to a staggering 1.150. These numbers reflect Seager’s resurgence and bring renewed hope for his team.

The streak began on May 19 against the Angels. During the eight games, the only game where the team did not win was on May 25 against Minnesota. However, Seager hit two spectacular hits a day later and drove in three runs.

Seager’s performance is not only impressive in the present but also echoes baseball history. Seager became the fifth to hit at least eight home runs in eight games by joining a select list of shortstops. In the history of the Rangers, he joins the ranks of José Canseco (1984), Rafael Palmeiro (1999), Josh Hamilton (2012), and Joey Gallo (2021), whose legacy still resonates in the annals of the Texan team.

Seager’s recent success resembles a beacon in the fog, guiding the Rangers to three consecutive victories. Seager is currently hitting .260 and has 29 RBIs in his 51 games this season, which comes after he missed most of spring training due to offseason surgery for a sports hernia. His 11 home runs in May mark the most he has hit in a single month.
