The Los Angeles Dodgers, a team full of great stars, are the new MLB champions after winning Game 5 against the New York Yankees and taking the title 4-1. One of the most outstanding, behind the World Series MVP, was outfielder Mookie Betts.

Three is the magic number for active Betts

With the victory in the ‘Fall Classic’, the Dodgers outfielder won his third World Series. One with the Boston Red Sox in 2018 and two with the Los Angeles Angels in 2020 and 2024. That made Betts the only active position player in the Major Leagues with three titles.

However, there are two other active baseball players who have also lifted the Commissioner’s Trophy three times. One of them is Joe Kelly, his teammate, who joined Los Angeles as a free agent.

The other is reliever Will Smith, currently with the Kansas City Royals, who won in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves, in 2022 with the Houston Astros, and in 2023 with the Texas Rangers. However, the right-hander did not pitch when the Astros defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in six games.

Who has the most World Series ever?

While Betts is the active player with the most MLB titles, the all-time record belongs to a Yankees legend. The remarkable Yogi Berra won the MLB championship 10 times over a career that spanned 19 seasons.

Behind him came Joe DiMaggio (9) and then Lou Gehrig, Phil Rizzuto, Bill Dickey and Frankie Crosetti, all with eight.
