Who is Jac Caglianone, likely top MLB Draft pick for 2024?
A two-way star who holds the single-season and all-time home run records at Florida, Jac Caglianone is tipped to go first overall in the MLB Draft.

Florida’s season came to an end when Texas A&M shut them out 6-0 in the NCAA Tournament semi-finals, but the road ahead looks very bright indeed for one of their stars.
The Gators’ first baseman is a true gem, and is heavily tipped to go first overall in the 2024 MLB Draft. The Tampa native has a rare combination of elite pitching talent and exceptional hitting ability, which has drawn obvious comparisons to Shohei Ohtani.
With a fastball that can touch 99 mph, plus a breakneck slider, he posted a 4.76 ERA on 73.2 innings pitched this year, while giving up 39 runs and 50 walks as he struck out 83 hitters.

5-8, 2 HR, 4 R, 4 RBI, 6 BB, 1 HBP, .800 OBP.

Offensively, Caglianone really shines. Batting from the left side, he was named to several All-American teams and has won various conference awards throughout his college career and hit .419 with 35 dingers and only 26 strikeouts over 248 at-bats this year.
And it is not just this year. Caglianone has homered more than 60 times over the past two seasons, striking out in just 8% of his plate appearances.
Jac Caglianone is certainly a top five pick and will very likely go one or two in the 2024 MLB Draft, and whichever team picks him up will have a weapon on their hands that could pay dividends in years to come.
