Rich Hill’s career in the MLB began in 2005 with the Chicago Cubs. Over the years, he has been with multiple teams, including the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Minnesota Twins, among others.

Hill’s recent return to the Boston Red Sox, the team with which he has had multiple stints, has been particularly noteworthy. In 2024, he made history by appearing in his 20th consecutive MLB season.

Who is the oldest person to play in the MLB?

The oldest player to ever play in Major League Baseball was Satchel Paige. He made a major league appearance at the age of 59. Paige, a legendary pitcher, played his final game for the Kansas City Athletics on September 25, 1965.

Nolan Ryan, Cap Anson, Deacon McGuire, Tommy John, Julio Franco, Brooks Robinson, and Carl Yastrzemski are some of baseball’s oldest players to grace the diamond.

Nolan Ryan played for 27-seasons with a record of 5,714. Tommy John better known for the surgery named after him, played for 26 seasons. Julio Franco played for 23 seasons and hit home run at age 48. These names proved that age is just a number and that age should not hold you back.
