The 2022 NBA Draft picks are coming in, with the latest crop of youngsters hearing their name called and realising the dream of making the jump to the big time. This year’s draft was held at the Brooklyn Nets Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, with the Orlando Magic having the number one pick and going for Duke’s Paolo Banchero, a 6ft 10 inch power forward from Seattle, Washington.

Magic go for Banchero number one

While some had seen the Magic going for either Chet Holmgren or Jabari Smith, Paolo Banchero was widely recognised as the best player in the draft and Orlando decided that was indeed the case.

The first three picks were the three players most expected to go in those spots, with Chet Holmgren rumbling off to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Jabari Smith Jr blasting off to the Houston Rockets.
