The 2023 NBA All-Star Weekend begins today, Friday, February 17. Of course, the big All-Star game is not until Sunday, but the whole weekend is full of events you won’t want to miss. On Friday, the Rising Stars Game and Celebrity Game highlight the night.

How to watch the NBA All-Star events on Friday, Feb. 17

The whole of the All-Star Weekend will be broadcasted on different channels throughout. Friday begins with the Rising Stars Practice and Hall of Fame News Conference, which are both available only on NBA TV. You can also check out the Hall of Fame conference on the NBA App. For the Celebrity and Rising Star games, you can watch on ESPN and TNT respectively, and have many more options to stream the action live.

Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game

The first big event is the Celebrity Game, which will be held at the Jon M. Huntsman Center at 7 p.m. ET. There will be two teams of NFL and MLB athletes, musicians, artists, and comedians competing on the court. The first team will be captained by Utah Jazz governor Ryan Smith with stars like former NFL player Calvin Johnson and rapper and recording artist Ozuna. The second team is captained by Jazz minority owner and former NBA champion Dwayne Wade, with celebrities like Latin music icon Nicky Jam and actress and singer/songwriter Janelle Monáe.

There will be a new feature this year where the team captains can activate “crunch time”, which will begin two minutes in which all points scored will be doubled. The “Unlock a Legend” feature from last year will also be back, in which the teams can add an NBA star to the roster during the game.

Jordan Rising Stars Game

The night ends with Rising Stars Game which takes place at Vivint Arena, the home of the Utah Jazz, at 9 p.m. ET. The Rising Stars Game showcases young talent with rookies and up-and-coming players showing off their skills and going head-to-head. This year’s format features a four-team knockout tournament with each team playing once and the winners going head-to-head. The four teams are coached by former All-Stars Pau Gasol, Deron Williams, Joakim Noah, and Jason Terry. The two semifinal games will be played until 40 points and the championship game until 25.
