49ers’ TE George Kittle reveals which team he wants to lose the NBA Finals: “I am a fan, just not right now”
The Thunder edged closer to the title with Monday’s 109-120 win at the Paycom Center. “Mid-West guy” Kittle is torn between the two finalists.

Monday’s 109-120 win at the Paycom Center put the Thunder 3-2 up in the series and one win away from clinching the championship title. Like many NBA stars, George Kittle has been closely following the action with interest. Madison-born and bred, the 49ers’ tight end admits that as a “Mid-West guy”, he would normally be backing the Pacers but on this occasion, he’s with Oklahoma all the way.

He explained where his allegiances lie and why on the Rich Eisen Show this week: “Thank you for bringing the Thunder into it because I am an Oklahoma City Thunder fan,” Kittle said. “I lived in Oklahoma for three years, I went to the playoffs when it was [Kevin] Durant, [James] Harden and [Russell] Westbrook - that was pretty fun to watch. So, I’ve been a Thunder fan since high school, and very excited to see what they’re doing. I got actually to go to a game back in I think it was March, and Shai put up 50 points, put up a nice 50 burger for me - I was blown away. Those guys are really good at basketball.
“Y’know, me and Pat McAfee aren’t really on speaking terms right now... we’re not, but it’s okay. Because I still respect Pat. It’s hard not for me to root for the Pacers because I’m a Mid-West guy and I like Indiana so... I am a fan, just not right now, unfortunately," he concluded.
