Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson, a three-time league MVP (2020, 2022, 2024), delivered a legendary performance with 32 points and 20 reboundsthe first 30+20 game ever recorded in WNBA history.

She finished with 32 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists and 13-of-25 shooting. It was A’ja’s 14th double-double of the season and her 30th career 30-point game. “With all the legends who’ve played in this league, it’s wild that this is the first time. It’s a blessing. I love what I do,” she told reporters afterwards.

Minnesota on top in rematch

Elsewhere, Sunday’s showdown between the Minnesota Lynx and New York Liberty marked the second meeting in two weeks between last year’s WNBA Finals contenders—and once again, the Lynx came out on top.

  • Game 1: July 30 in Minneapolis — Lynx win 100–93
  • Game 2: August 10 in Brooklyn — Lynx win 83–71

Both teams were missing their biggest stars - the Lynx were without Napheesa Collier who is out with an ankle injury while the Liberty’s Breanna Stewart remains sidelined with a knee issue.

Kayla McBride led Minnesota with 18 points, including four 3-pointers. DiJonai Carrington added 15 off the bench, continuing her strong start since joining the Lynx.

Ionescu recompensed

Sabrina Ionescu struggled for New York, scoring 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting and missing all six 3-point attempts. Despite her shooting woes, Ionescu made history by becoming the fastest point guard in WNBA history to reach 954 career rebounds.

The Lynx rack up their fifth consecutive victory, improving their league-best record to 27–5, while the Liberty dropped to 20–11, now tied with Atlanta for the top spot in the Eastern Conference.
