Chris Paul injury update: Will CP3 be back for game 5 against the Nuggets?

The Suns and the Nuggets are battling it out for a place in the Western Conference finals in a tight series where Paul hasn’t played for Phoenix in the last two games.

One of the most interesting second-round playoff series is the one being played between the Phoenix Suns and the Denver Nuggets.

Denver, who finished on top of the NBA standings in the West at the end of the regular season, easily defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round (4-1).

They had a strong start against Phoenix, taking a 2-0 lead after winning the first two games at home, but the Suns, one of the main favorites to the title with the addition of superstar Kevin Durant, bounced back with another two victories at Footprint Center to tie the series.

Phoenix’s fate in these playoffs started to look really bad in the second game against the Nuggets, as they ended up losing to Nikola Jokic’s team but also lost one of their most important players in Chris Paul, who left the court due to a left groin strain.

However, Durant, Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton & co. managed to carry the team to a couple of wins that leaves the series wide open.

Will Chris Paul play Game 5?

Now the series will go back to Denver, where Michael Malone’s side will try to take advantage of their fans’ support to take a 3-2 lead.

Phoenix, meanwhile, will try to make it three victories in a row against their opponents, but Williams’ side won’t be able to call upon the services of Paul in Game 5, per the Suns’ injury report.

CP3, a 12-time All-Star, and nine-time All-Defensive Team selection, averaged 13.9 points, 8.9 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game during the 2022-23 regular season.

In Phoenix’s five-game series win over the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the playoffs (4-1), Paul averaged 13.6 points, 8.2 assists, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.2 steals.
