Clips starting five
The Clips have been rolling and they are going to be looking to head into the post season on a hot streak. It'll be up to James Harden, Kawhi, Dunn, Powell and Zubac to get things off to a hot start from Chase Center this afternoon.
Warriors staring five
The Warriors are going with their big five highlighted by Steph Curry and Jimmy Butler. Podziemski is the Swiss army knife that will do a little bit of everything while Green and Looney will look to pound away down low.
Home court on the horizon?
If the Clippers go into Chase Center and beat the Warriors they could be hosting Game’s 1 and 2 in the playoffs. That all depends if the Nuggets lose to the Rockets, who have been resting players as they get ready for a postseason push. The Clippers would jump the Nuggets if they win and Denver loses and that would most likely set up a match up between the Clips and Nugs in the first round.
Star watch: Clippers
James Harden had a triple double last game, and we all know he can score the rock, but there is no one that makes a bigger difference on the Clippers than a healthy Kawhi Leonard. He’s played just 36 games this season, but he is hitting stride at the perfect moment. He looks like the Kawhi of the Toronto days when he led the Raptors to an NBA title. He struggled to start the season which didn’t begin for him until January, but over the last two months he is averaging 25 ppg, and is playing defense like the lock down Kawhi from a couple years ago. The Clippers are going to go as far as Kawhi takes them. Clippers fans just have to hold on and hope that he stays healthy.
Curry questionable
The Warriors need this game, and they are going to get a big boost from with the news that Steph Curry will be available. He is dealing with a thumb injury that visibly affected him against the Trail Blazers last game. He hit just 2 of 8 threes he took and came into today listed as questionable. He assured the media before the game that he is dealing with some pain, but he’s going to be alright. We are about to find out just how alright he is against a Clippers team that have been running through teams.
What Warriors need to get to the playoffs
The goal for Steve Kerr and the Warriors has been to avoid the Play-In since Jimmy Butler. They need a win today to lock up the six seed in the West, but if they lose, things could get awfully complicated. It’s not going to be easy against a Clippers team that has won seven straight games. There is also the question of perhaps getting the seven seed with a Play-In win to take on the Houston Rockets and not the Los Angeles Lakers as the sixth seed, but Steve Kerr and his guys are going to come out to win and then worry about where they end up and who they have to play in the playoffs.

NBA Standings
It’s the final day of the regular season and there has never been more of a reason to take a look at the standings coming into the day. The Thunder are the top team in the West by a long shot. They are 15 games ahead of the second placed Rockets, and behind Houston sit the Lakers locked in third. The Nuggets are currently tied with the Clippers, but Denver has the tie break which would leave them in 4th should they end the night with the same record. A game behind them are the Warriors in 6th and the T’Wolves in 7th. We could potentially see a four way tied from the 4 to 7 seed, if the cards fall in the right place.
Star watch: Warriors
The Golden State Warriors have been on a resurgence since Jimmy Butler has joined forces in the Bay. He has lightened the work load for Steph Curry which hasn’t just made Steph a better, more dangerous player, it’s freed up guys like Brandon Poziemski and Johnathan Kuminga to be able to take over games. Butler has rekindled his love of basketball and it’s showing. Now all the Warriors will have to do is win tonight to stay out of Play-In position. Jimmy is going to have to come up huge tonight before unleashing the beast we know as “Playoff Jimmy.”
Last game: Warriors
The Warriors went to Portland following a skid that saw them lose two of three games, and they needed a win against the Trail Blazers to keep from sinking into playoff position. Jimmy Butler lead the way with 24 points and Buddy Hield had 16 coming off the bench as Stephen Curry struggled from the field in Portland. The Warriors took the lead late in the first quarter and kept the Trail Blazers to just 37 first half points. The lead stretched out to 25 and Golden State was able to take their foot off the gas for the final quarter of the game in preparations for today’s massive match up.
Last game: Clippers
The Clippers went into Sacramento needing a win to have any chance at the top four in the West, and they went down to the wire with the Kings. The biggest lead of the game was 10, held by LA but the lead went back and forth all game. Kawahi Leonard put up 28 points to lead all Clippers and James Harden had a 23 point triple double, but Zach LaVine kept Sacramento in the game with his 26 points and Domantas Sabonis had 19 and 16 rebounds as the Kings came back from 9 down with less than three minutes to go and pulled to within a point but DeMar DeRozan missed the game winning three pointer at the buzzer and the Clippers won their seventh straight.
We are live from the Bay
Hello everyone and welcome to the Chase Center where the Warriors are right above the Play-In live spot sitting in 6th place but a loss tonight could mean they would have to play in the knockout tournament just to get the post season. The Clippers have jumped up and over the Warriors and come into to today having won 9 of 10 games and and have a chance to jump the Nuggets to steal home court advantage in the first round. Make no mistake. The playoffs haven’t started, but this is going to feel like a playoff game from the Bay.

It’s the final day of the regular season and playoff seeding has still not been finalized.
