Does Juan Toscano-Anderson get an NBA champion ring even if he left the Warriors?

The Golden State Warriors will be hosting the Los Angeles Lakers on the opening night of the NBA 2022-23 season, and the evening will be very special for Warriors fans. So special, in fact, that ticket prices are the second most expensive in NBA history for the regular season.

The host team will add yet another banner to their rafters, and the players will be receiving their championship rings.

From North to South California

Forward Juan Toscano-Anderson was part of the title-winning roster, but he left the Warriors after the team did not extend a qualifying offer to him, making him an unrestricted agent.

He has since signed with the Lakers, and though he is playing for the opposing team tonight, he will still collect a ring for being a part of the 2021-22 Warriors.

Toscano-Anderston want the win over the ring

The 29-year-old recognizes the value of the ring, but more than that, he wants his new team to prevail over the defending champions tonight, an objective which he acknowledges is quite a challenge.

“Obviously it’s a big night for myself and for Golden State, something that I definitely want to enjoy. But I’m a Laker now, I want to go in there and kick their butts. That’s the ultimate goal is to start off the season on the right foot and go into Golden State, which is a tough place to win,” he told Spectrum SportsNet.

“I know how their fans are, and they’re an amazing team, so I would like to go in there and get a win, that would be better than the ring, to be honest,” said Toscano-Anderson.
