Draymond Green destined for Detroit?
The 32-year-old power forward has been key to the success of the Golden State Warriors in recent years could be destined for a move to ‘Motor City’.
After winning the NBA championship last season, the Warriors’ postseason promises to be one of the biggest in recent franchise history. Bob Myers, the team’s general manager, will have to make major decisions for the future of Golden State and one of them may involve one of the team’s biggest names.
Contract extensions for Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole and Draymond Green are on the table with Green’s deal one of the fundamental issues to be discussed by the front office.
There is talk of the Pistons looking to take in the 32-year-old player with Green a Michigan native making his basketball breakthrough with the Spartans from Michigan State University. The player has always stated that his idol was Pistons legend Ben Wallace.
Detroit is still very much a franchise in reconstruction despite having incorporated future prospects such as Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren and having a No. 1 pick in the Draft like Cade Cunningham. The arrival of Green would make them serious contenders in the East.
In the case of any possible trade with the Golden State Warriors, the Pistons have players such as that they could use as part of a deal such as Nerlens Noel , Alec Burks or Kelly Olynyk.
