What’s the story behind Rumble the Bison?

According to the Thunder’s official tale, Rumble was a bison struck by lightning while saving his herd from a storm. Instead of, you know, dying, he became stronger, wiser, and bipedal. Classic superhero origin story... with horns.

The performer behind Rumble is reportedly earning between $80,000 and $100,000 annually. Decent, above average, but some way from the top paid mascots. And he’s also no stranger to silverware. Rumble was named NBA Mascot of the Year in 2009, just a year after his debut – proof that Oklahoma City took to him fast.
