Update:

One game to go. The Indiana Pacers are set to take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in a matchup that promises the kind of entertainment we’ve been craving—especially at this crucial point in the season.

While it may not be the most high-profile game on paper, there’s no questioning the credentials of these two teams, both of whom have delivered plenty of excitement throughout the year.

One thing is certain: the regular-season clashes left us wanting more. The Thunder’s rock-solid defence has been one of the standout features of the campaign, while the Pacers have dazzled with their high-octane offence. It’s the immovable object versus the unstoppable force.

To get a sense of what might unfold, let’s take a look back at how these teams fared against each other during the regular season:

They faced off twice, with the Thunder getting the upper hand on both occasions. The first meeting, on December 26, 2024, ended in a 120–114 win for Oklahoma City—adding to their impressive nine-game win streak at the time.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the undisputed star of the night, delivering a sensational performance. He was unstoppable, putting up a career-high 45 points on 15-of-22 shooting from the field and going a perfect 11-for-11 from the free-throw line.

Their second encounter came on March 29, 2025, with the Thunder once again prevailing—this time in more dominant fashion, winning 132–111. Interestingly, it marked the second time that season Oklahoma City went on a nine-game winning streak, with SGA once again leading the charge with 33 points.

Tyrese Haliburton improved his output from the first game—jumping from just 4 points to 18—but it wasn’t enough. The Thunder’s relentless defense had only grown stronger, creating chaos with forced turnovers and executing their game plan to perfection.
