Knicks fans don’t hold back on Trump attending Game 3 of the NBA finals: Here’s what New Yorkers have to say
President Donald Trump will be in attendance at the Knicks vs. Spurs NBA Finals Game 3 at Madison Square Garden and many fans aren’t pleased.

President Donald Trump has once again inserted himself into something that should’ve been fun, but has now turned into a high-security chaotic mess. As the New York Knicks head home for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Madison Square Garden is preparing for the president’s arrival by ramping up security measures at the arena. And fans are not only unhappy about the inconveniences his presence is going to cause, but by his presence alone as well.
Bags banned, but middle fingers welcome
The Knicks are currently leading the series 2-0 after close road wins over the San Antonio Spurs. They now have home-court advantage, and that advantage is strong. The Knicks fans have been waiting over half a century to see their team win a championship, and the crowds have been wild at Madison Square Garden for the Games 1 and 2 watch parties. Now, the team is back in town.

But because the president will be in attendance, security measures for Game 3 are much more intense. The fans going to the game have been advised to arrive at least two hours in advance to prepare for the time it will take to go through the security measures. Bags of any size are completely banned, and there will be TSA-like security protocols before entering the arena.
Many fans have voiced their displeasure at the inconvenience, with one writing on X, “Why should the rest of us have to suffer because of one person’s decision to go, especially when he probably can’t even name three players on the team?” Others noted simply the “mess” this is going to cause.

Several others noted they did not wish to see the president at the game due to his values not being aligned with the fans and people of New York. Many wrote that they simply do not want him there. “Bro we don’t want him there,” wrote one X user. “Why yall let him in??? We don’t want him there,” wrote another.
Other users voiced their concern that Trump could jinx the team. “If we lose Monday night, THIS will be why. TF..,” one user wrote.
Some other reactions were a lot harsher. Fans were interviewed on the streets and many had a simple message for Trump: “F*** you”.

And of course, many stated their expectation that the president will be brutally and ruthlessly booed, with many stating that they are looking forward to it. “Can’t wait to hear how loud the boo’s are gonna be,” one user wrote. Another fan said in an interview, “Let him come, we’re gonna boo the f*** out of you, bro.”

This NBA Finals series is already reaching record viewership levels. Game 3 is already a high-stakes game with the Knicks having the opportunity to all but seal the series with a win and the Spurs fighting for their life. Trump’s presence is just adding even more drama to the night. The Knicks and Spurs tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden on Monday, and it is shaping up to be an entertaining night on and off the court.
