LeBron and AD reunited! Former Lakers teammates set to join forces again
The smoke is still settling from a wild trade deadline that reshaped the surface of the NBA landscape, but two former teammates will be reunited.
The NBA All-Star game is set for the weekend after the Super Bowl and the teams have been selected, setting us up with some very interesting rosters for the leagues' biggest showcase event. One of the teams participating will feature former LA Lakers teammates LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
New take on All-Star Game
This year things are a little different as the NBA looks to add a little bit of spice to what has been an awfully dull event over the last few years. The starters and reserves were announced last week as a result of a mix of fan and media voting, but there would be no East vs. West game.
Instead the All-Star Game, or games, will feature four teams made up of 8 players playing in a mini-tournament. Three of TNT”s Inside the NBA analysts, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley got to select their teams from the 24 player pool of All-Stars. The other team will be coach by Candice Parker who will coach the winner of the Rising Stars Game.
Shaq’s team is filled with a mix bonafide superstars including LeBron and AD. Chuck’s team is chalked full of international guys who look to be taking over the league while Kenny’s team consists of youngsters who haven’t participated in too many All-Star games, if any.
