Update:

Forget Deadpool & Wolverine, we’ve got a new superhero pair in shiny suits ready to take on the world. Luka Dončić‘s move to the Los Angeles Lakers sent shivers down the spine of the rest of the NBA, with his soon-to-be partnership with basketball legend LeBron James taking fans to new heights in terms of expectation and sheer joy.

But those in yellow and purple won’t be tuning in any time soon to catch the dynamic duo on their screens. Physical issues continue to haunt the two and as such their on-court relationship will be consigned to our collective imagination for the time being.

For the upcoming game against the Golden State Warriors, James is listed as ‘probable’ with his recurring left foot injury still clearly an issue concerning the medical staff in California. The legend has been a constant presence on the list as he continues to take small steps towards full recovery. Having missed only 3 games this season, the 40-year-old superstar is still averaging insane numbers, putting out 24.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game this season.

As for Dončić, he has been recovering from a calf issue since Christmas and is down as ‘out’ for the Warriors game - and he more than anyone will be upset at missing out. “It’s just like a dream come true,” Dončić said on playing with LeBron. “I always look up to him. There’s so many things I could learn from him. And I’m just excited, just to learn everything and now I get to play with him. So it’s an amazing feeling.”
