LeBron James, the superstar of the Los Angeles Lakers, is set to fulfill his dream of playing in the NBA alongside his son Bronny, who was drafted in the second round of the most recent NBA draft. However, the four-time champion has imposed one very specific condition on his son.

Daddy rules for Bronny James

During a special edition of The Shop, sponsored by Nike in Paris, LeBron revealed that the University of Southern California graduate is not allowed to call him “dad” while they are at the Lakers’ facilities.

“We’ve already settled that. Bronny can’t call me dad in the workplace,” LeBron said. “Once we leave practice, he can go back to calling me ‘dad’; on the way home, at home, I can be ‘dad’ again.”

LeBron then joked about the different ways his son could address him when they play together, even suggesting that one option could be calling him the GOAT, an acronym for “Greatest of All Time.”

“He’s gotta call me 23, or Bron. Or, you know, GOAT, if he wants to,” the Lakers’ number 23 explained. “It’s easy for me because I’ve always called him Bronny; it’s not like I’ve been saying, ‘son.’ Can’t be running down the court like, ‘Dad, I’m open.’ That wouldn’t work.”

When will LeBron and Bronny James’ first game be?

The Lakers will have six preseason games where the James duo could play together for the first time. However, the first regular season game for the Lakers is scheduled for October 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Crypto.com Arena.
