Loaded for the 2025 NBA Draft: These are the teams with the most picks
The Dallas Mavericks have the top pick in this year’s NBA Draft, and will likely take Cooper Flagg, but it’s another team that will have the busiest draft.

Just a few days after the OKC Thunder won their first NBA title, it’s already time to start thinking about the future. The Thunder have built a title winning team by using their draft picks and carefully crafted trades and now all the other 29 teams will try to follow suit in the 2025 NBA Draft this week.
Mavs miracle lands them top pick
The Dallas Mavericks have the top pick in Wednesday’s draft despite having less than a 2% chance of winning the lottery last month. They are set to have a stress free first day of the draft, with just one pick in the first round they have known who they are taking since hitting the jackpot on lottery night.
Cooper Flagg is, and has been the most desired player in this draft class, and now the Mavericks have a chance to get back into the good graces of their fans after trading Luka Doncic to the LA Lakers in the middle of the season. They aren’t out of the woods just yet, with Kyrie Irving set to miss a large chunk of the season as he continues to rehab a torn ACL, but there could be something building in Dallas once Flagg, Irving and Anthony Davis grace the same court together.

The other team that could be building something special, in the same way that the OKC Thunder have over the years are the San Antonio Spurs. They have had a handful of lottery picks over the years, and after brining in Victor Wembanyama two years ago, they have two lottery picks (#2 and #14) on Wednesday night.
Nets set for a long night
No one will have a busier next couple days than the Brooklyn Nets. They have four of their five draft picks in the first round, with the first of them coming at the #8 slot. They also have the 19th pick and back-to-back picks at #26 and #27. We will have to see if they use all those picks, or try and trade a few of them to try and build a team that is ready to compete for the first time in a few seasons.

Aside from the Nets and Spurs, six other teams have multiple picks in the first round. The Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards, Atlanta Hawks, Utah Jazz, New Orleans Pelicans and OKC Thunder have more than one pick on Wednesday night. It should come as no surprise every team with multiple first round draft picks missed the playoffs this season. Everyone except the Thunder, of course, who not only made the playoffs, they won it all.
The NBA Draft starts on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m ET from New York’s Barclays Center. Cooper Flagg is destined to be the first pick of the night, but after that it’s really anyone’s guess as to who goes where. You can follow all the action with AS English. We will have live coverage for all 30 picks of the first round.
