The start of the new NBA season is getting closer by the second and the Los Angeles Lakers have one goal and one goal only: winning the NBA TItle.

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to leave their four game sweep at the hands of the Denver Nuggets in the rear view. Austin Reaves wasn’t shy about letting his feelings known concerning some of the comments made in the Nuggets championship celebrations.

Speaking to The Bleacher Report about the statements made by Denver head coach Michael Malone; who on the ‘Pat McAfee Show’ during the title celebration, and suggested that his team was the “Lakers daddy.”

“I think everyone knows that what the Nuggets have said since they won the championship has been directed at us,” Reaves said.

He also pointed out that this will only serve as motivation for he and the Lakers in the season to come.

“They can do it indirectly if they want... I think it adds a little bit of motivation to play really well,” he added.

Austin Reaves will return with a more leading role after the Lakers gave him a contract extension this offseason. As it happens, the LA will tip off the campaign against the Nuggets in Denver on October 25th.
