With three games now played by all teams (apart from Group C) in the inaugural NBA In-Season tournament, each of the six groups are starting to take shape as teams vie for a place in the next stage with eight teams set to advance to the knockout rounds. Each team to top their group progresses along with two “wild cards” (the team from each conference with the best record in Group Play games that finished second in its group).

With three games played in all games apart from Group C where two games have only been played by the Kings, Timberwolves and Golden State, four teams are mathematically eliminated despite all teams still having a game to play.

Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs are all (0-3) in their opening matches and cannot progress in the competition.

Knockout Rounds

The Knockout Rounds will consist of single-elimination games for the eight teams that advance from Group Play, beginning with the quarterfinals on 4/5 December. Teams that win will progress to the neutral-site semifinals on 7 December and then the Championship final on 9 December.
