Mac McClung stole the spotlight during the 2023 All-Star Weekend becoming the first G League player to enter and win the Slam Dunk Contest b>.

Now, his future in the NBA is increasingly clear. According to a report by The Athletic, McClung signed a partially guaranteed deal with the Orlando Magic to play in the 2023-24 NBA season. The Orlando Sentinel confirmed that this is an Exhibit 10 deal, which means he will be part of the team during training camp.

Last year McClung played for the Delaware Blue Coats, the G League affiliate of the 76ers, and signed a two-way contract with the Philadelphia team prior to the Slam Dunk. The Texas Tech graduate played in 31 games with Delaware and averaged 19.8 points, 4.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds.

McClung already has NBA experience since in the 2021-22 season he signed two 10-day contracts with the Chicago Bulls and a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers at the end of that same season. In addition, the 24-year-old guard played two NBA games with the 76ers last season, and posting 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in a short stint in Philly.
