NBA Summer League 2022: What to know
The NBA is heading to Las Vegas, Nevada on July 7 to host the NBA Summer League as the California Classic and Utah Summer League finish their tournaments.

We don’t have to sit around twiddling our thumbs while the NBA makes its trade and free agent moves. We have the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas to keep us entertained! The California Classic has already begun with the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Miami Heat. The final games in that tournament will be played on Tuesday, July 5. Following that, the Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, Memphis Grizzlies, and Philadelphia 76ers will play in the Salt Lake City Summer League from Tuesday, July 5 to Thursday, July 7. Then the real excitement begins when all 30 NBA teams participate in the Las Vegas tournament from Thursday, July 7 to Sunday, July 17. Here is everything you need to know about the competition.
What is the format of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas?
The competition will be held over 11 days with a total of 75 games. Each team will play four games in the preliminary round. The top two teams from the four games will play in the Championship Game on the last day, July 17. The other 28 teams which don’t make the will play a fifth game on July 16 or 17.
Which players play in the NBA Summer League?
The Summer League is not for the stars, but rather to try out different line-ups with the rookies and sophomore/G League affiliate players. That’s the best part about the Summer League - it’s our first look at some of the recent draft picks and other players looking to earn their spot and playing time in the league. Here are the rosters for all 30 NBA teams in the Summer League that we know of so far. Rosters will be updated as the competition gets closer.
