Update:

As the NBA enters one of its high-pressure stretches of the season, the league’s social media rankings offer a glimpse into which players are capturing global attention far beyond the court. Forget the sport, this is 2025, and that’s the real quiz.

According to recent league figures, nine of the ten players with the highest total views across official NBA social and digital channels this season are scheduled to compete on December 25.

The list tallies views from various online hell holes such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, and the NBA app.

Luka Doncic: the NBA’s most popular player

At the top of the chart sits the Lakers’ Slovenian sensation Luka Dončić, whose highlight reels, star performances and signature threes have generated the most views among all players so far this season.

Hot on his heels is San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama, the 7-foot-4 beast whose blend of talent and work ethic continues to capture audiences around the world.

Behind Wemby are two of the game’s most enduring figures: Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Stephen Curry remains a favourite, as does Los Angeles Lakers icon LeBron James, who rounds out the top four. Again, The King proves that even with nearly two decades in the league he still drives significant digital interest for the franchise. Getting rid of him due to the birth date on his passport is not a simple decision.

The rest of the top ten is a mix of established stars and rising names. Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Denver’s Nikola Jokić are among those whose consistently strong play has translated into social media noise, while Cooper Flagg is leading the new generation of stars as he enters the top 10 in his rookie season.
