The Los Angeles Lakers will retire Spanish center Pau Gasol’s jersey this Tuesday in a ceremony planned to commemorate his achievements over the seven years that he was with the franchise. Fans highly regard the Spaniard over in California. He was instrumental for the team when Kobe Bryant was there and he helped the Lakers legend win two rings without Shaq.

The Spaniard will be remembered for his clutch efforts throughout their postseason campaigns while being Kobe’s number two guy. During the first round of the 2010 playoffs, Gasol’s game-winning jumper against the Oklahoma City Thunder saved the day after Kobe Bryant’s failed shot. His shot knocked the Thunder out of the competition and paved the way for the franchise that year.
