Will Steph Curry play in the All-Star Game?
The Golden State Warriors star has suffered an injury that will see him sidelined ahead of the All-Star weekend.
As excitement builds for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has unfortunately had to give fans the bad news. It has been confirmed that the 11-time All-Star will not take part in Sunday’s showpiece event after persistent trouble with his right knee has ruled him out.
Head coach Steve Kerr revealed on Monday that Curry has been ruled out of All-Star fun as he continues to manage a case of patellofemoral pain syndrome, known to us muggles as “runner’s knee.” The condition first flared up in late January and has sidelined him for multiple games, including last week’s home loss to the Detroit Pistons where he left the court early due to the pain.
Despite his lack of consistency in the side, missing more than a dozen games this campaign due to various injuries, Curry has maintained impressive scoring numbers this season, averaging approximately 27.2 points per game, ranking among the league’s most prolific scorers, while also contributing around 3.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per contest. His shooting efficiency remains strong, with a field goal percentage near 47 per cent and his free-throw accuracy above 90 per cent.
“It’s still painful... It’s something we still have to monitor”
Curry, known for his candid reflections on injury and recovery, emphasised the need for patience in recent comments to reporters. “It’s a matter of learning as I go what works rehab-wise,” Curry revealed to ESPN.
“Because it’s still painful. You have to try to get rid of all the inflammation and pain. It’s something we still have to monitor and injury-manage, but it’s something where, if I come back too early, it could flare up.”
More importantly than the All-Star Game, Golden State will also be without Curry for their upcoming games against the Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs.

Curry’s omission from the All-Star lineup also extends the list of elite players missing the event. Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has already withdrawn with an abdominal issue, leaving organisers to finalise replacements for both stars on their respective teams.
