Update:

Stephen Curry continues to solidify his status as one of the NBA’s all-time greats. The Golden State Warriors star recently spoke about his unwavering desire to win a fifth league championship.

“Someone asked me this summer, ‘Why are you still playing?’” Curry shared during an interview on 95.7 FM’s Steiny & Guru on The Game. “(Winning a fifth ring) is literally the only thing you’re playing for. I like where we are right now. I think we have what it takes to get there. But I’m not going to jump the gun and say, ‘Oh, we’re a championship team right now,’ because we still have another level to reach.”

The Warriors have received a significant boost with the arrival of Jimmy Butler, who joined from the Miami Heat at the trade deadline. Since his addition, the team has posted an impressive 12-2 record.

I like where we are right now,” Curry reiterated. “I think we have what it takes to get there, but I’m not getting ahead of myself by saying we’re a championship team right now. We have to reach another level before we can thrive in a playoff environment. I’m excited for the challenge. I just wanted to be in the mix—I just wanted a chance.”
