With his future already up in the air as far as the Los Angeles Lakers are concerned, the fact that he’s just put his house up for sale won’t do anything to slow down the rumor mill.

Russell Westbrook is selling his home for $30 million

With reports on Tuesday confirming that Russell Westbrook has now listed his home in Brentwood for sale, there is no doubt that rumor and rhetoric will kick in to overdrive given the current situation between him and the Los Angeles Lakers. In excess of 13,000 square feet, the six-bedroom house was built in 2018 and also sports a gym, movie theater, fully stocked bar and a wine room. What’s the asking price? Though he bought the property for just short of $20 million, it’s understood that Westbrook’s asking price is just short of $30 million.

Why the jump in price on Russell Westbrook’s home?

If you’re wondering about the almost $10 million price increase, it’s understood that Westbrook added a number of custom and ‘ultra-bespoke’ finishes to the home. Those include, but are not limited to, numerous French doors, hardwood floors, custom moldings and imported slabs of marble for the kitchen. The listing for the home also describes a subterranean lower level which includes a second family room, a second wet bar, a staff bedroom and the “ultimate movie theater.”

As for the property itself, the house sits on a half-acre corner lot on one of the premier streets of the prestigious Brentwood Park in Los Angeles, California. Described as “modern traditional” in its architectural style, the home also boasts a kids’ soccer pitch, which is to say there is ample space. Though there aren’t many photographs currently available, you can see a few in the tweet above. It is understood that the listing is currently held under joint control by Bjorn Farrugia at Hilton & Hyland along with Donnell Beverly Jr. at Berkshire Hathaway HSCP.

What should we take from Russell Westbrook’s house listing?

A few years ago, if a player put his house up for sale it was a clear indication that a trade was all but inevitable. With that said, things have changed. Take, for example, LeBron James, who just last year listed an LA property on the market. It goes without saying that James isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Yet suspicion persists here considering that Westbrook recently hired Jeff Schwartz as his agent. Could it just be a case of him trying to capitalize on the retouching he did or is this a genuine precursor to a move elsewhere? While we’re not entirely sure, we’d suggest keeping an eye on Westbrook’s situation.
