Was Sabonis injured after Draymond stepped on him? Will he play in game 3 of Kings vs. Warriors?
What are the physical repercussions for Domantas Sabonis following his altercation with Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green during Game 2?
Draymond Green is set to miss Game 3 of the Kings-Warriors series due to a one-game suspension. Interestingly, Domantas Sabonis might also be absent from the game. Sabonis, who suffered a stomp from Green during Game 2, is now listed as “questionable” on the Kings’ injury report. He has a sternum contusion sustained during the incident with Green.
NBA:
To give you a clear view, a sternum contusion is a fracture or bruise on the breastbone or surrounding cartilage caused by a direct and blunt impact or trauma. A bruised sternum is usually the result of a “traumatic blow” to the chest or breastbone area. The sternum, the breastbone, is a flat, elongated bone in the chest’s center. Typically, a bruised sternum can heal by itself in a few weeks. Ice, anti-inflammatory medication, restricting movement, and avoiding weighty activities can hasten recovery.
Although his x-ray was negative on Monday, Sacramento Kings medical team kept him on Wednesday’s “questionable” list.
Will he play in Game 3?
It is uncertain whether Sabonis will participate in the upcoming game when the Kings attempt to secure a 3-0 series advantage over the Warriors at Chase Center on Thursday night. During Monday’s Game 2 of the 2023 First Round, Domantas Sabonis scored 24 points, secured 9 rebounds, and significantly impacted the game.
Although, Sacramento’s head coach, Mike Brown, informed the “Inside the NBA” crew on TNT that Sabonis is anticipated to participate in the upcoming game after engaging in an entire practice session on Wednesday.
Kings are now going to San Francisco for Game 3 of the first-round series, seriously focused on their goal. Draymond will be out, while Sabonis can still make a comeback and help his team in their quest to surprise the reigning champion at their home.
