It’s the headline that shook the world of the NBA, and will shape the storyline of the season to come. Damian Lillard is headed to Milwaukee to join Giannis Antentokounmpo after the Portland Trail Blazers finally agreed to trade their franchise player of the last decade.

This will immediately place the Bucks as the front runners for the NBA Championship, especially when you take a look at their starting five. This is already a team with a base that has won an NBA title before, and with the addition of the seven time All-Star, they will only strengthen their case to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals.

The Bucks didn’t get Lillard without having to give up some key pieces to the Bucks puzzle over the last few years. Jrue Holiday will be the biggest absence in the post trade era in Milwaukee, but Grayson Allen is also shipping out. Holiday was a great defender as well as being one of the best point guards in the league and Allen added a little edge off the bench along with his sharp shooting stroke from the perimeter.

The chance to bring in Lillard to Fiserv Forum was too juicy, and the Bucks sent Holiday and Allen packing. This is how their new starting five will look assuming nothing else changes before the regular season tips off on October 26th.
