Will Kristaps Porzingis play for the Celtics against the Knicks in Game 2? Latest injury update
Illness forced center Kristaps Porzingis to sit out the second half of the Boston Celtics’ Game 1 defeat to the New York Knicks.

Kristaps Porzingis has been listed as probable for Game 2 of the Boston Celtics’ NBA Playoffs series against the New York Knicks today, after illness caused the center to miss the second half of Game 1 on Monday.
“We’ll see how he feels”
“He’s a little bit better,” Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said of Porzingis in a news conference yesterday. “We’ll see how he feels.”
Mazzulla initially told reporters he had “no idea” whether Porzingis’s illness is related to the upper respiratory complaint that kept the Latvian out of several games in February and March.
However, he later said the player has been “working through” lingering effects of that illness since his return.
“Since he came back, I think he’s kind of been dealing with it on and off, working through it, fighting through it, doing the best he can,” Mazzulla told reporters. “And I think it was just too much for him in that game [against the Knicks].
“He had been working through it since he’s gotten back, and he’s done a great job of being available. It was just tough for him to continue yesterday.”
Who else is on the Celtics’ injury report?
The Celtics have listed small forward Sam Hauser as doubtful for Game 2 against the Knicks, as the 27-year-old deals with a right ankle sprain.
Hauser suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals series opener - a game that the Celtics lost 108-105 after overtime.
