Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is once again listed as questionable for today’s NBA Playoffs game against the New York Knicks, as the Pennsylvanians bid to level the first-round series in a must-win clash.

Why is Embiid questionable for Game 6?

The 76ers have reported Embiid as questionable for every game so far against the Knicks, as the reigning NBA MVP continues to nurse his troublesome left knee. However, he has played each time and - although clearly not at 100% - has averaged just under 32 points during the best-of-seven series.

Despite also being bothered by a migraine on Tuesday, Embiid managed a triple-double as the 76ers cut the Knicks’ series lead to 3-2 in Game 5, earning a 112-106 overtime victory at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Tyrese Maxey starred for the visitors, shooting a postseason career-high 46 points.

Embiid reveals Bell’s Palsy diagnosis

Embiid, who returned to action early last month after surgery on his knee in February, revealed last week that he has additionally been struggling with a minor case of Bell’s Palsy. The condition causes sudden, temporary weakness or paralysis of the muscles on one side of the face.

It’s pretty annoying, you know, the left side of my face, my mouth and my eye, it’s been tough,” the Cameroonian-American said after the 76ers’ Game 3 win over the Knicks on 25 April.

The 76ers must win today if they’re to keep their hopes of a fourth NBA title alive.

After losing Games 1 (104-111) and 2 (101-104) in the Big Apple, Philadelphia got on the board with a 125-114 victory in the teams’ first meeting at Wells Fargo Center. The Knicks restored their two-game advantage with a 97-92 triumph in Game 4, before Maxey led the Sixers to victory two days ago.
