Update:

Ohio State standout Jeremiah Smith just added a new kind of highlight to his record, and it’s not on the stat sheet. The sophomore wide receiver has become the first college football player to appear on a Red Bull can. He got wings!

What does 4 and 56 mean on the design?

The limited-edition design, revealed on Monday in Columbus, pays homage to Smith’s defining moments: his jersey number “4”, a route trace from his 56-yard reception against Notre Dame, and a portrait from his 2024 signing as Red Bull’s inaugural collegiate athlete. The cans – available in 8.4- and 12-ounce sizes – will be sold exclusively in Ohio through December, or while supplies last.

The surprise unveiling came with help from NFL legend Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, who presented Smith with the can hidden inside a giant football-shaped Matryoshka doll. “It’s truly a blessing,” Smith said. “To be the first collegiate athlete on a Red Bull can means the world to me.” Check out the moment.

Ochocinco, who shares Smith’s Miami roots, called the moment “a testament to all the work he’s put in.” Smith, who racked up 1,315 yards as a freshman and already has 602 this season, joins a select roster of Red Bull athletes that includes Neymar Jr., Lindsey Vonn, and Blake Griffin.
