NCAA March Madness Final Four 2023: prices, how and where to buy tickets
If you’re fearful of what ticket prices might look like for this year’s Final Four, we understand you, but fear not, we’ve got the low down and the cost ‘ain’t that bad.’
When Duke faced North Carolina in the 2022 Final Four in New Orleans, we witnessed some of the most expensive ticket prices in the history of college basketball’s premier event. With that in mind, it’s very encouraging to see that even us ordinary folks will be able to catch this year’s last four standing if we so desire.
What’s the cheapest price for Final Four tickets?
Though you’ll probably Google this to be sure, the starting price of the cheapest tickets for the national semifinals on April 1st at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas is just $150 according to Viagogo and that’s with taxes included, in case you’re wondering. What that means, is that if you’re a UConn fan - the one team with a fanbase history of extensive travel - then things just got a lot more affordable. That’s not to say that there won’t be a large contingent of fans from the other three schools vying for glory. Indeed, we’ve got imagine that San Diego State, Miami and Florida Atlantic will be represented in full force, but at the very least the playing field will now be a little more level.
What about the most expensive tickets?
As you probably know by now, there is no sporting event whether collegiate, professional or in between that is cheap today. The NCAA’s final four is no exception in that regard and with that in mind, if you’d like to splash the cash then there are definitely seats that can fulfill your need to make a statement. Tickets in section 127 which will put you center court at a few rows back, will run you about $9,330, which is definitely not cheap, but what’s even more fascinating is that the seats are almost sold out. So, if you’d like to get up close to the action then you’d better act fast.
Who’s in the Final Four?
The 2023 Final Four sees Florida Atlantic from the East, UConn of the West, San Diego from down south and Miami from the Midwest set to battle it out for a place in the National Championship game. It goes without saying that Florida Atlantic’s Owls are the biggest underdog of the teams, as they prepare for their very first Final Four appearance in history. Incidentally, they were also the first team to book their spot in the semifinals with a dramatic win over highly favored Kansas State in the East Region. UConn on the other hand, made it business as usual though they did have to defeat a difficult opponent in Gonzaga. The following day we saw San Diego come out on top in a tight low scoring 57-56 game, while Miami’s Hurricanes upset the team that many favored to win the tournament, the Texas Longhorns. This is all to say, we’re probably looking at one of the most exciting Final Four matchups in a long time, so don’t miss it.
