In February, the police uncovered a connection between Alabama’s freshman sensation, Brandon Miller, and an alleged murder that occurred near the UA campus in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, back in January.

Miller remains uncharged in the tragic death of Jamea Jonae Harris, a young mother and a loss to her 5-year-old son. However, police testimony in February suggests that Miller allegedly provided the firearm used in the fatal shooting to his former teammate Darius Miles, who then passed it on to another person to carry out the crime. Miles and his criminal partner, Michael Lynn Davis, have been charged with capital murder and are headed to trial.

Miller is accused of assisting in the crime by providing the firearm that was used to shoot Harris fatally. However, it has been revealed that the gun actually belonged to Miles. Court documents suggest that Davis is the individual who pulled the trigger and ultimately caused Harris’ demise.

Miles got cut from the Alabama team due to being charged with capital murder. Meanwhile, Miller has managed to steer clear of any legal trouble and has played in every game for the Crimson Tide.

What does Miller claim happened the night of the shooting?

Miller and his legal team are defending his innocence, stating that he had no knowledge of the firearm being in his car. However, the text message from Miles to Miller requesting the gun raises doubts about the truthfulness of Miller’s statement.

There’s some uncertainty regarding Miller’s knowledge of the gun in his vehicle. Alabama’s athletic director, Greg Byrne, and Miller’s attorney both assert that Miller’s appearance at the site was subsequent to the initial text asking for a ride.

During the altercation, Miller stayed in his vehicle, but his car’s windshield took two hits as a heated gun battle erupted.

What is the latest update on the case?

According to court records, Davis has confessed to shooting the gun that resulted in Harris’ death, while Miles has claimed responsibility for providing the firearm.

Miller and Bradley have been named as key witnesses in the ongoing investigation by authorities. Alabama has confirmed that they fully cooperate with the case and provide valuable support to the team.

Paula Whitley, the Tuscaloosa chief deputy district attorney, has claimed that there is nothing they can charge Miller with at this moment.
