2026 Super Bowl weather forecast: wind speed, rain probability and temperature in Santa Clara
Here’s everything you need to know about the weather ahead of the Super Bowl.
With Super Bowl LX set for Sunday February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, attention is turning from the gridiron to the heavens above. For the first time in several years, the NFL’s championship game will be played outdoors, meaning weather could play a role in how the Patriots and Seahawks perform under pressure.
Forecasters are predicting generally mild conditions around kickoff, with temperatures comfortably above the seasonal average for the region.
Daytime highs are expected to reach the low to mid-60s Fahrenheit (around 17–19 degrees Celsius), dipping into the low 50s by the final whistle as the sun sets over the South Bay.
Wind is not likely to be a significant factor. Most models project a light breeze from the southwest at around four to seven miles per hour, with only modest gusts. Those conditions should leave play largely unaffected, a welcome note for both sides.
Rain could be a wildcard on game day. While Southern California’s wet season technically runs through February, the latest outlook suggests only a modest risk of showers Sunday afternoon and evening, roughly 30 per cent or slightly higher in some forecasts. There is even a small chance of isolated thunderstorms, although the likelihood of anything severe appears to be low.
Humidity will be moderate, beginning around 60 per cent early in the game and climbing later as temperatures fall. For the fans packed into Levi’s Stadium, that means a feel that’s closer to cool than cold, especially if rain moves in after sunset.
Cloud cover may be a feature of the afternoon, with low clouds or fog in the morning giving way to partly cloudy skies around kickoff. This pattern is typical for the Bay Area in winter, when coastal marine layers often build overnight and burn off as the day warms.
