Aaron Rodgers looking for redemption with the Pittsburgh Steelers
The veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be looking to put his underwhelming season with the Jets behind him.

Aaron Rodgers is the new quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 41-year spending considerable time on whether to continue playing in the NFL or opt for retirement.

Fore some weeks now, Pittsburgh was heavily rumoured as his new destination after the franchise failed to reach an agreement with its two starting quarterbacks from last season as Justin Fields departed for the New York Jets; and Russell Wilson signed with the New York Giants.
During the NFL draft, the Steelers waited until the third day to select a quarterback: Will Howard, with the 185th pick in the sixth round. The QB roster also includes Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson, but they were looking for a seasoned player who could handle every situation, and Aaron Rodgers fits that bill.
The four-time MVP traveled to Pittsburgh yesterday (Friday) to sign his contract and join before next week’s minicamp. Before the move to the Steelers, Rodgers had been linked to a number of teams, including the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings with the name of the New Orleans Saints also emerging as a possible destination following the unexpected retirement of their quarterback Derek Carr.

Rodgers looks for redemption
Rodgers will seek redemption with the Steelers, after an extremely complicated stint with the New York Jets, where he suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon and in his single season with the Gang Green. The NY team finished with a negative record of 5-12, although he completed 63% of his passes, threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
At this juncture of his distinguished career, Rodgers has little to prove, as the player will be a future member of the American Football Hall of Fame and so far has totaled 62,952 passing yards and 503 touchdowns.
Ironically, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ season begins with a Week 1 visit to the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on September 7. Rodgers will face former team, Green Bay Packers at Acrisure Stadium on October 26 for Sunday Night Football.
The Steelers have some good offensive players after they acquired wide receiver DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks in a trade; if that weren’t enough, they’re getting back one of the team’s leaders, tight end Pat Freiermuth.
At receiver, they have Calvin Austin III, Robert Woods, and Roman Wilson, who will fight for the second receiver spot. It’s worth remembering that they lost George Pickens, who left for the Dallas Cowboys.
We have agreed to terms with QB Aaron Rodgers on a one-year contract, pending the completion of a physical. @BordasLaw
